The Big Five Factors Of Personality - 946 Words
Psychology is easily one of the most applicable sciences when it comes to everyday life. Everyone has behavior and mental processes. Understanding and applying the following concepts to my life will have or have already had a positive impact on my overall well being: the five-factor model of personality, depression disorders, happiness, stress coping, and group influence. Learning the big five factors of personality helped me to better understand myself. I am an analytical person and I believe that the more I realize about myself the more successful I will be. My traits are neurotic, extroverted, and open. I have not yet come to a conclusion on if I am conscientious. Every so often, impulses get the best of me and I act rashly; on the other hand, discipline and organization are two of my strong suits. As much as I would love to say I am agreeable, I am not. I am typically difficult to please and I lack faith in others. Acknowledging the fact that I am typically neurotic and disagreeable helps me become self-aware. For example, the next time my volleyball coach asks me to put the ice chest on the bus, I am going to cooperate and do it without complaining under my breath and becoming angry. Self improvement starts with self understanding. This will benefit every aspect of my life, including relationships, school, and my job. My father suffers from dysthymic disorder and generalized anxiety disorder.
